1.0 Welcome
Thank you for purchasing Sony Media Software Cinescore 1.0 software. This document contains information about installing and using Cinescore on your computer.
 
2.0 Known Issues
  • If you attempt to install Cinescore on a computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition using a limited user account, the installation will fail with an unknown error. Log on with an accout that is a member of the Administrators group, and you can install Cinescore.
  • If Windows Terminal Services is turned off, Cinescore will display an error during startup. You can re-enable Terminal Services in the Services Control Panel. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools >Services, and then double-click the Terminal Services entry. In the Terminal Services Properties dialog, set the Startup type drop-down list to Manual or Automatic. Click OK, and then right-click Terminal Services and choose Start from the shortcut menu.
3.0 System Requirements
The following lists the minimum system requirements for using Sony Media Software Cinescore software:
  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 (SP4) or XP
  • 1.5 GHz processor
  • 512 MB RAM, 1 GB recommended
  • 200 MB hard-disk space for program installation
  • 1.7 GB hard-disk space for optional installation of themes and audio transitions
  • Windows-compatible sound card
  • CD-ROM drive (for installation from a CD only)
    DVD-ROM drive (for installation of themes and audio transitions)
  • Microsoft DirectX® 9.0c or later (included on application disc)
  • Internet Explorer 5.1 or later (included on application disc)
  • Internet connection (for Gracenote® MusicID™)
4.0 Installation
The install utility creates any necessary folders and copies all files required by Cinescore software to your computer.
 
Installing from a boxed product
  1. Place the Cinescore application disc in the drive. The setup screen is displayed (if AutoPlay is enabled for your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive).
    If you have disabled the drive's AutoPlay feature, click the Start button and choose Run. Type D:\setup.exe, where D is the drive letter of your CD or DVD drive, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  2. Click Install, and then follow the on-screen prompts to install the appropriate version of Cinescore for your computer.
Installing from the Web
  1. Download the install utility from our Web site.
  2. Double-click the file, and then follow the on-screen prompts to install the appropriate version of Cinescore for your computer. 
5.0 Cinescore Quick Start Guide
Included on the Cinescore application disc is a complete Cinescore Quick Start Guide in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. The Acrobat format allows easy printing of the text, should you need a hard copy. The manual is located in the Manual folder on the application disc.
 
Installing Adobe Reader
In order to view the manual, you will need to install the Adobe Reader. It has been included on the application disc in the \Extras\Adobe Reader 6.0 folder for your convenience. To install Acrobat Reader, follow these steps:
  1. Place the Cinescore application disc in the drive. AutoPlay launches an installation menu.
    If you have disabled the drive's AutoPlay feature, click the Start button and choose Run. Type D:\Extras\Adobe Reader 6.0\English\AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe, where D is the drive letter of your CD or DVD drive, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  2. Choose Browse Disc, and then browse to the D:\Extras\Adobe Reader 6.0\English\ folder.
  3. Double-click the AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe icon and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
